Viber8 ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Viber8 mobile application, website, and affiliate programme (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Account information: Display name, email address, account type (adult/parent/child), and date of birth (for age verification).
• Profile data: Country, city, opt-in preferences, and notification settings.
• Affiliate programme: Full name, website/social URLs, PayPal email address, and self-reported audience information.
• Payment data: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or full payment details.

We collect information automatically:

• Usage analytics (session duration, features used, frequency selections) via Firebase Analytics.
• Crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics (device model, OS version, app version).
• Proximity events: anonymous city/country data only — no precise location.
• FCM device tokens for push notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Service.
• To send meditation reminders, wave notifications, and daily affirmations (where you have opted in).
• To process affiliate programme applications and calculate/pay commissions.
• To enforce parental controls and protect child accounts.
• To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Children's Privacy

Child accounts (marked is_minor = true) are subject to enhanced protections:

• Children are excluded from the global Vibe Wave pool and cannot send or receive waves from strangers.
• Children cannot access the affiliate programme.
• Parental consent is required for account creation.
• We do not use children's data for advertising or analytics profiling.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Firebase / Google: Cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, and crash reporting.
• Stripe: Payment processing for subscriptions.
• EmailJS: Transactional emails (affiliate approvals, payout confirmations).
• PayPal: Affiliate commission payouts.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we retain transaction records for 7 years to comply with financial regulations. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to or restrict processing.
• Data portability.
• Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing).

7. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses strictly necessary cookies for authentication sessions. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Firebase Analytics uses a pseudonymous app instance ID — it does not use browser cookies.

8. International Transfers

Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. Google maintains GDPR-compliant Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including Firebase Security Rules, encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), EncryptedSharedPreferences on Android, and access controls limiting data to authenticated users only.

10. Affiliate Programme Data

Affiliate applicant data (name, email, social URLs, PayPal email) is used solely for operating the affiliate programme. Approved affiliate earnings and payout data are retained for 7 years for financial record-keeping purposes.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
